Term 3!

We have all been enjoying this term and have been working very hard! We have been doing lots of work on our topic which has been great fun and very interesting! We had a visit from the SSPCA who came to talk to us bout animals, we learned lots of new and interesting facts.

We have used the new break out space a lot, which has been great fun, as we have been doing lots of painting and collaging for our wall displays so they will look amazing!

As part of of our science for our topic we planted cress seeds and watched them grow and we recorded the progress of our seeds in our fact files.

We have also been working very hard in maths too, we are been learning about money just now which is good fun and helps us with our farm shop.

Today we are going on a wellie walk around the school to help inspire us to write lots of interesting things that we might see on our walk. We are excited as we get to wear our wellie boots and wrap up warm!

We are looking forward to the rest of the term and all the work we still have to do!

Our New School!

We are back at our new school now and its fantastic! Our classroom is fabulous, everything is so bright, clean and tidy! Some of our favourite quotes are “the lights are magic, they go off themselves” “wow the pink toilets are great!” “everything matches the school colours, can't believe it” “wow, we have trays under our desks!” “there's a tv in the dinner hall, amazing!!” “wow, the school is so cool!” We are all so lucky to have a new school with lovely new things! We are all so excited about working and learning in our new school!
Our topic this term is the Farm, it's going to be a great topic and we have been learning lots already! We can't wait to use the break out space to do some of our topic work, it will be great fun!

We are learning a Scottish poem just now to celebrate Robert Burns birthday this month and 3 winners will be chosen from our class to read the poem out at assembly next week, so exciting!

We are all really looking forward to this term especially in our fabulous new school! We will be working hard but will have fun learning too!

Term 2!

We have all worked really hard this term and we are all excited about Christmas coming soon! We are also excited because when we come back from our holidays we are going to a fantastic new school, we can't wait! This term we have been practising for our Nativity show, which has been great fun and we all loved doing it! We also got to see Baldy Bane Pantomime for our end of term reward, its was great!

Football Festival - Our trip to St Mirren Football Club

Our first term in P2!

We have had a great first term! We have had lots of fun packed learning. We have created life size people as part of our topic - Caring and Helping. We created a policeman, fireman, nurse and lolllipop lady. We all worked great together in our Home teams to create the different people. Our topic is coming to an end this week, and we were very lucky and got a visit from a nurse and the lollipop lady. It was great, we learned lots if interesting facts and we saw some of the eqiupment a nurse uses as part of her job.

This week we also went on a trip to St Mirren Football ground as part of the football festival. As part of PE this term we received football training from St Mirren and this week we got to go with all the other P2 classes as well as other schools to visit the football ground and complete sport activites on the pitch and in the training parks. It was great fun! We also got a tour of the ground, we got to see the trohpie room which in the boardroom which overlooks the pitch, and changing rooms where we got to see the tatics board. We all had a fantastic day!

We are all looking forward to our October break, to have a rest and get ready for Term 2!

Settling into P2!

We have settled into our new class very well and we are looking forward to the year ahead. We have 2 teachers this year, Mrs Smith and Miss McMillan. We have had lots of fun since starting back and we are enjoying our new class. We have been learning lots of new things in maths and language, we have had fun playing active maths and language games to help us with our learning.

We have created a class charter relating to our rights and responsibilities which links into our topic this term, Caring and helping. We have really enjoyed it so far and have been learning lots. We have made class bar graphs and a pictogram. As part of our topic we are learning about people who help us and we are going to create nice art work to show the types of people who help us, and hopefully we will get a visit from people whp help us later in the term.

We have been learning about the Sun, Moon and Stars in Science which has also been fun too.
